Good practice in survey research design

Participants will:

• Understand the basis of survey design in order to collect useful data and improve response rates.
• Know what design features are likely to affect the precision and accuracy of the eventual results from the survey.
• Know how to design clear and relevant questions, and to assess the most appropriate mode of contact with people. 
• Know the value of standard techniques for sampling people – such as the use of clusters and strata.
• Know about public and patient involvement and ethical issues in survey methodology
