Duncan Barron works part-time (currently 0.5 FTE) as Research & Development Advisor (part of the RDS-EM) and is based at the Centre for Health & Wellbeing Research at the University of Northampton. Duncan’s background is in psychology. He has worked as a psychology assistant in the NHS with both children and older people and as research psychologist on a large-scale child psychotherapeutic study at UCL. He completed his MSc in Advanced Social Research Methods at City University in London. Duncan’s research interests include: the long-term psychological consequences of war; the impact of war commemoration and remembrance on older veterans; oral history and reminiscence groups. His particular areas of methodological expertise are in designing focus group studies and in utilising the Framework technique for analysing qualitative data. Duncan has extensive experience of supporting a wide range of health and social care professionals and practitioners with their research. Duncan’s normal office hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
